Senior Procurement Engineer

About the role

GCITJ BABEL LTD is seeking a Senior Procurement Engineer to join its on‑site team in Baghdad. You will play a pivotal role in driving efficient supplier selection, purchase order management, and procurement strategy optimisation for large‑scale engineering projects.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate and qualify suppliers to ensure quality, cost‑effectiveness and reliability.
• Manage the full lifecycle of purchase orders, from creation to delivery confirmation.
• Analyse procurement data to support data‑driven decision‑making.
• Prepare, issue and manage Request for Quotations (RFQs) and negotiate terms.
• Maintain clear communication with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
• Optimise procurement processes while ensuring compliance with organisational standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience in supplier evaluation and purchase‑order oversight.
• Strong analytical abilities for data‑driven decisions.
• Excellent communication skills for coordination with teams and suppliers.
• Hands‑on experience with RFQ preparation and management.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management or a related field.
• Familiarity with procurement software and tools is a plus.
• Organisational precision and attention to detail.
• Experience in procurement for large‑scale engineering or infrastructure projects is advantageous.
