Senior Internal Auditor – Finance (Arabic Speaker)

About the role

Laith Al Obaidi Group is seeking a detail‑oriented Senior Internal Auditor to join its finance team in Iraq. The role focuses on evaluating financial operations, identifying risks, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and conduct financial and operational audits in accordance with approved audit plans.
• Review accounting records, financial statements, and transactions for accuracy and compliance with IFRS and company policies.
• Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls across all departments.
• Identify control weaknesses, risks, and potential fraud or inefficiency.
• Ensure compliance with local laws, tax regulations, and internal financial policies.
• Support risk assessments and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Prepare clear audit reports, present findings to senior management, and follow up on corrective actions.
• Recommend improvements to financial processes, systems, and controls.
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors and provide guidance to junior auditors.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional certification such as CIA is highly preferred.
• 5–7 years of experience in internal audit, finance audit, or accounting.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of IFRS.
• Expertise in internal controls and audit standards.
• Ability to assess risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
