Senior Financial Specialist

About the role

Dr. Scent is seeking an experienced Senior Financial Specialist to lead finance operations in Iraq. The role focuses on accurate reporting, strong financial controls, and strategic analysis to support the growth of an international fragrance brand.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily finance and accounting operations.
• Prepare financial reports, statements, and management analysis.
• Monitor budgets, expenses, cash flow, and overall financial performance.
• Ensure accuracy of accounting records and financial transactions.
• Support month‑end and year‑end closing activities.
• Develop financial analysis and provide recommendations to management.
• Maintain strong financial controls and ensure compliance with company policies.
• Coordinate with internal departments and external partners on financial matters.
• Support implementation and improvement of finance processes and systems.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in finance or accounting roles.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting.
• Experience in FMCG, retail, fragrance, or international companies is preferred.
• Excellent communication skills in Arabic and English.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems.
• Experience using accounting software.
• Ability to conduct financial analysis and reporting.
