Senior Data Scientist – Business Intelligence

About the role

Zain Iraq is seeking a Senior Data Scientist specialized in Business Intelligence to lead its Customer Analytics unit. The role will define the advanced‑analytics roadmap, develop predictive models, and drive data‑science initiatives across commercial, finance and technical functions.

Key responsibilities

• Apply advanced statistical, predictive modelling and machine learning techniques to support business decisions.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to capture requirements, frame scenarios and define expected outcomes.
• Identify and integrate relevant internal and external data sources, recommending collection and retention strategies.
• Design, build, maintain and continuously improve segmentation, churn prediction and big‑data use‑case models.
• Communicate findings in clear, business‑focused language and present actionable insights.
• Monitor model performance, lead enhancements, and ensure operational stability.
• Leverage AI technologies, including LLMs and NLP, to automate insights and support strategic objectives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Econometrics or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
• Proven senior‑level experience in data science, analytics or machine learning.
• Strong understanding of supervised, unsupervised and reinforcement learning techniques.
• Experience with deep‑learning architectures and frameworks such as PyTorch.
• Familiarity with NLP, transformer‑based models and causal inference methods is a plus.
