Senior Coordinator

About the role

The Senior Coordinator will lead the “Justice Resilience Initiatives – Phase‑2” project implemented by the Kurdistan Center for International Law (KCIL) in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. The role focuses on strengthening the rule of law by incorporating international human‑rights standards, supporting crisis‑prevention measures, and enhancing accountability within the judicial system.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and oversee overall implementation of the project, ensuring activities meet approved objectives, timelines, budgets and donor requirements.
• Develop comprehensive project plans in consultation with team members, assigning clear roles and responsibilities.
• Monitor project progress against work plans, identify risks and apply corrective measures to achieve timely outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies, donor regulations and project‑management standards throughout the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate project resources effectively to maximise efficiency, accountability and impact.
• Provide leadership, guidance and support to project staff, fostering a collaborative and results‑oriented work environment.

Required profile

• Proven experience in project management and implementation oversight.
• Ability to develop detailed project plans and monitor progress against set targets.
• Familiarity with donor compliance, organizational policies and international human‑rights standards.
• Strong leadership skills to guide and support multidisciplinary project teams.
• Experience working with legal stakeholders such as judges, prosecutors, lawyers, MPs and community representatives.
