Senior Compliance Specialist

About the role

Geo-Jade Petroleum’s South Basra Integrated Project is looking for an experienced Senior Compliance Specialist to join the Contracts & Procurement Department in Basra, Iraq. The role will support the Compliance Section Head in building and maintaining a robust compliance framework across the full procurement lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee compliance of the entire contract procurement lifecycle, from tendering to contract execution, ensuring adherence to the company’s Supply Chain & Procurement Procedures and local/international regulations.
• Review tender documents, bid submissions, evaluation reports and related correspondence to verify procedural fairness and identify risks.
• Collect, consolidate and report departmental compliance data on a monthly basis for senior management.
• Organise and chair regular compliance meetings, record minutes, track actions and deliver training to improve team awareness.
• Provide corrective recommendations and support the Department Head in risk mitigation.

Required profile

• Degree in Business Administration or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in project administration, compliance, procurement processes and document control, preferably in the oil & gas sector.
• At least 3 years of overseas experience, with exposure to the Middle East considered a plus.
• Fluent written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint and MS Access.
• Experience using ERP systems for procurement and document management.
