Senior Accountant

About the role

The Senior Accountant will manage daily accounting operations for Geely Iraq, ensuring accurate financial records and compliance with local standards. This full‑time, on‑site role is based in Baghdad and supports the company’s growth in the automotive market.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee general ledger entries, costing, accounts payable and receivable, and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare financial statements and monitor budgeting, cash flow, and month‑end/year‑end closing activities.
• Ensure compliance with Iraqi accounting standards and internal policies.
• Review financial data for accuracy, support internal and external audits, and provide financial analysis for management decisions.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to improve accounting processes and support business growth.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash‑flow management.
• Strong knowledge of Iraqi accounting standards, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA, ACCA or equivalent certification is a plus.
• Prior experience in the automotive or retail sector and in multinational organizations is beneficial.
• High level of integrity, ethical conduct, and ability to handle confidential financial information.
