Senior Accountant – Hybrid (Erbil)

About the role

Injaz ERP is seeking a Senior Accountant to lead day‑to‑day financial operations while supporting the implementation of its ERP platform. This full‑time, hybrid position is based in Erbil with occasional remote work.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the general ledger, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
• Execute month‑end and year‑end closing activities and prepare financial statements.
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable, monitor cash flow, and ensure compliance with Iraqi accounting standards and tax regulations.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, cost analysis, and variance analysis, providing insights to management.
• Collaborate with the Injaz ERP implementation and support teams to optimise accounting workflows within the platform.
• Mentor junior accounting staff and travel across Iraq to demonstrate the system or train clients.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of general accounting principles, financial reporting, and local regulatory requirements.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA, ACCA or equivalent certifications are a plus.
• Several years of progressive accounting experience, including senior or supervisory responsibilities.
• Fluency in English and Arabic (spoken and written) preferred; familiarity with the Iraqi business environment is advantageous.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid setting and coordinate with cross‑functional teams.
