Senior Accountant – Credit & Receivables

About the role

The Senior Accountant will support the finance team by managing credit risk, securing revenue, verifying and recording transactions, and resolving discrepancies in line with company policies and procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Verify customer accounts daily and ensure major customer transactions are accurately reflected.
• Provide support to Credit Control for irregularities and assist the Credit Manager as needed.
• Maintain accurate accounts through timely reconciliation of all customer transactions and balances.
• Secure daily control of cash and cheque deposits, and coordinate transfers to head office and remote locations.
• Match and process customer payments promptly in collaboration with sales and cash handling teams.
• Manage deductions (rebates, short‑paid invoices, returns, chargebacks) in line with retailer contracts and ensure they are reflected in accounts.
• Communicate regularly with customers, share reconciliations, and resolve discrepancies to maintain satisfaction.
• Support month‑end activities and ensure continuous communication with commercial functions.

Required profile

• Graduate degree in Finance, Accounting or related field.
• Minimum 3 years progressive experience in Accounts Receivable and Credit Control within an FMCG environment.
• Strong understanding of credit risk management and financial reconciliation processes.
