Purchasing Manager – Oil & Gas EPCM (Onsite)

About the role

KBR is seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to lead procurement activities for EPCM oil & gas projects in Basra, Iraq. The role is site‑based, supporting both brownfield and greenfield projects and ensuring timely acquisition of materials, equipment, and services.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all purchasing processes including RFQs, bid evaluations, and purchase order issuance.
• Coordinate closely with engineering, construction, and project controls teams to align deliveries with project schedules.
• Manage vendor selection, commercial negotiations, and supplier performance metrics.
• Provide procurement status reports, forecasts, and risk mitigation plans to the Project Manager and Contracts & Procurement Manager.
• Ensure compliance with company procedures, EPCM standards, and client requirements, maintaining audit‑ready documentation.
• Lead, mentor, and allocate work for Buyers, Expeditors, and Procurement Engineers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business or a related field.
• 20+ years of experience in oil & gas procurement.
• Minimum 5 years in a managerial procurement role.
• Proven ability to work under strict schedules and operational demands.
