Purchasing Manager

About the role

The Purchasing Manager will lead the procurement function for Rixos Baghdad, ensuring the hotel obtains high‑quality goods and services at competitive prices while supporting seamless operations and guest experience.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and continuously improve the hotel’s procurement strategy aligned with operational needs and budget.
• Identify, evaluate and negotiate with suppliers to secure favorable terms, pricing and delivery schedules.
• Oversee the full purchasing cycle from requisition through purchase order issuance, receipt, payment and reconciliation.
• Monitor inventory levels, prevent stockouts and avoid excess holding costs.
• Conduct regular quality inspections and ensure all purchased items meet hotel standards and specifications.
• Collaborate with finance to manage the procurement budget, report variances and drive cost‑control initiatives.
• Maintain strong supplier relationships and assess performance against agreed KPIs.
• Stay informed on market trends, new suppliers and sustainable sourcing opportunities.
• Lead, coach and develop the purchasing team to achieve departmental objectives.

Required profile

• Significant experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably within the hospitality sector.
• Strong negotiation and contract‑management abilities.
• Proven track record of cost optimisation and budget adherence.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Leadership experience managing a small team.
