Project Officer – Rehabilitation, Reconciliation & Reintegration (RRR) Operations

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Project Officer to support its Rehabilitation, Reconciliation and Reintegration (RRR) operations in Iraq. The role contributes to integrated, conflict‑sensitive interventions that help internally displaced persons and returnees achieve safe, dignified, and sustainable outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and expand IOM’s RRR and durable‑solution portfolio, including case management and Information, Counseling and Referral Services (ICRS).
• Facilitate community‑based dialogue, reconciliation activities, and rehabilitation and reintegration programmes.
• Support Preventing Violent Extremism (PVE) initiatives and ensure adherence to “do no harm” and conflict‑sensitivity principles.
• Coordinate with governmental, inter‑governmental and non‑governmental partners to align interventions with local needs.
• Monitor project progress, prepare reports, and contribute to strategic planning for social cohesion and tribal engagement.

Required profile

• Relevant academic background (e.g., social sciences, humanitarian studies, international development).
• Experience in project management within displacement, return, or post‑conflict contexts.
• Demonstrated ability to work with diverse stakeholders and respect gender‑balance policies.
• Strong communication and reporting skills, with a commitment to conflict‑sensitive approaches.
