Production Chemist – South Rumaila Operations

About the role

The Production Chemist will join the Production Chemistry team at KBR Sustainable Technology Solutions, supporting field operations at South Rumaila. Based in the Contractor Camp, the role involves daily site visits to degassing stations and related facilities, ensuring optimal crude, gas, and produced water quality.

Key responsibilities

• Provide on‑site support to South Rumaila operations teams and attend daily/ad‑hoc meetings.
• Troubleshoot degassing stations and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to maintain crude, gas export, and produced water quality.
• Conduct laboratory analyses, run and monitor water‑lab tests, and oversee field trials.
• Analyze trial and operational data to drive process improvements.
• Perform quality‑control inspections of chemicals supplied to the site.
• Contribute to produced water clarification, corrosion, and scale mitigation strategies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or a related discipline from an internationally recognised institution.
• 10+ years of relevant field experience, including at least 5 years in a similar production chemistry role within oil and gas.
• Strong English communication skills and ability to work safely in a field environment.
