Plant Manager – PET Preform Factory

About the role

Al Mutahida is looking for an experienced Plant Manager to lead a PET preform manufacturing facility in Iraq. The role oversees all aspects of plant performance, from production efficiency to safety compliance, ensuring the factory meets its output and quality targets.

Key responsibilities

• Direct daily factory operations and ensure smooth production flow across all shifts.
• Manage injection‑molding equipment, molds, utilities and auxiliary systems.
• Achieve daily, monthly and annual production targets while monitoring machine utilization, downtime and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
• Coordinate with production, maintenance, quality, warehouse, planning, procurement and HSE teams.
• Control production costs, manpower productivity, energy consumption and material waste.
• Implement preventive actions to minimise breakdowns and production losses.
• Ensure full compliance with safety, hygiene and company operational standards.
• Lead, train and develop supervisors, operators, technicians and other plant staff.
• Prepare and review performance, quality, maintenance and manpower reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Polymer or Manufacturing Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of manufacturing operations experience, with at least 5 years in a managerial role within PET preform, plastic packaging or related industries.
• Strong technical background in plastic injection molding and familiarity with PET preform processes.
• Proven experience managing multi‑shift production environments.
• Experience in Iraq or the regional manufacturing market is an advantage.
