Planning Analyst

About the role

Arhaus, a furniture and décor company founded in 1986, is hiring a full-time Planning Analyst. The role manages purchase orders tactically, from order creation to receipt in the warehouse, and monitors inventory levels to maximise stock position while minimising unproductive inventory at the product level, working with the Merchandise Planner.

Key responsibilities

• Generate purchase orders with guidance from the Merchandise Planner
• Use financial and quantitative information to optimise inventory receipt flow within warehouse receiving constraints
• Partner with vendors to optimise shipping parameters and maintain forecasts and ordering constraints for all vendors and items
• Track and manage open purchase orders, follow up with vendors on shipping status and report on late shipments
• Work with Sourcing and Buying to resolve ongoing issues with late shipments
• Monitor sales and inventory levels with the Planner and adjust purchase orders to drive sales and profitability
• Create reports, analyses and scenarios to drive inventory strategy decisions and generate weekly, monthly, quarterly and seasonal sales reporting
• Analyse trends to identify risks and opportunities and help develop an action plan with the Manager
• Assist the Planner with markdown, promotional strategies and store replenishment

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent business experience
• Minimum 1 year of experience in inventory analysis, planning, allocation, buying, production or sourcing
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Self-motivated and able to work efficiently and accurately in an ever-changing environment

Required skills

• High proficiency in Excel
• Thorough understanding of retail math
