Persian Audio Transcription Expert

About the role

Perle is seeking native Persian speakers to accurately transcribe audio recordings into time‑aligned written text. The work supports speech‑recognition and evaluation systems for leading AI labs, requiring expert linguistic judgment rather than simple data entry.

Key responsibilities

• Convert studio and real‑world Persian audio into precise, conventionally formatted transcripts.
• Apply project‑specific style guidelines for speaker identification, overlapping speech, disfluencies, fillers, and non‑speech events such as laughter or background noise.
• Make orthographic decisions for dialectal, colloquial, and code‑switched speech, and flag ambiguous segments.
• Self‑review each submission against quality standards before delivery.
• Collaborate with QA reviewers on edge cases, calibration sessions, and style‑guide updates.

Required profile

• Native fluency in Iranian Persian with lifelong residence or deep immersion in Iran.
• High accuracy reading and writing in Perso‑Arabic script.
• Ability to distinguish Iranian Persian from Dari and Tajik in mixed audio.
• At least two years of professional transcription, captioning, court reporting, broadcast, translation, or linguistic annotation experience.
• Comfort with web‑based annotation platforms, variable‑speed audio playback, reliable high‑speed internet, quality headphones, and a quiet workspace.

Required skills

• Proficiency with web‑based annotation tools.
• Strong orthographic judgment for Persian, Dari, and Tajik variants.
