Operations Manager - Gas Turbine Power Plant

About the role

The Operations Manager is responsible for the strategic and tactical management needed to run the plant safely, efficiently and reliably. As a key member of the site leadership team, the role works closely with Maintenance and Site Management to oversee and lead all on-site operations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall management of all site equipment and systems, using the GE Vernova or the Customer's facility workforce.
• Develop and implement an operational strategy that maximizes plant efficiency while meeting customer requirements in a safe, reliable, economical and environmentally sound way.
• Ensure plant operations and maintenance data are developed and recorded, and that periodic operational checks and tests are performed according to customer requirements, manufacturer recommendations, applicable laws and contractor guidance.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, health and safety requirements in plant operations.
• Establish and maintain sampling programs to keep chemistry specifications within limits for operating, shutdown or lay-up conditions.
• Manage the Log-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) system in line with the Contractor's policies, with the Customer's assistance.
• Develop operating procedures for major systems using facility design manuals and vendor instructions, and recommend facility modifications and upgrades to improve reliability and performance.
• Coordinate with the GE Vernova O&M Support team and Engineering on complex operational issues, and drive optimization of operating strategies for lower cost and higher efficiency.
• Prepare plant operating logs, submit operations activity reports, take part in root cause analysis of technical events and assist in training the Customer's operations team.
• Review chemical reports, advise on optimal stock of chemicals and consumables, and cover the Plant Manager, Deputy Plant Manager or Maintenance Manager when needed.

Required profile

• Graduate engineer in Mechanical, Electrical or Controls from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum 10 years of gas turbine combined cycle power plant O&M experience, including at least 5 years in a management position.
• At least 5 years of O&M experience at GE Vernova F-class gas turbines is mandatory.
• Prior experience in the same capacity with GE Vernova O&M is preferred.
• Willingness to travel as required.
