Operations Manager - Gas Turbine Plant

About the role

The Operations Manager is responsible for the strategic and tactical management needed to run the plant safely, efficiently and reliably. As a key member of the site leadership team, the role works closely with Maintenance and Site Management to oversee and lead all on-site operations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall management of all site equipment and systems, using the GE Vernova or the Customer's facility workforce.
• Develop and implement an operational strategy that maximizes plant efficiency while meeting customer requirements in a safe, reliable, economical and environmentally sound way.
• Ensure plant operations and maintenance data, and periodic operational checks and tests, are recorded according to customer, manufacturer, legal and contractor requirements.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, health and safety requirements in plant operations.
• Establish and maintain sampling programs to keep chemistry specifications within limits for operating, shutdown or lay-up conditions.
• Manage the Log-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) system and develop operating procedures for major systems, recommending facility modifications and upgrades to improve reliability.
• Coordinate with GE Vernova O&M Support and Engineering teams on complex operational issues, optimize operating strategies for lower cost and higher efficiency, and prepare operating logs and activity reports.
• Support root cause analysis of technical events, assist in training the Customer's operations team, and make recommendations on chemical and consumable stock levels.
• Provide coverage for the Plant Manager, Deputy Plant Manager or Maintenance Manager as applicable.

Required profile

• Graduate engineer in Mechanical, Electrical or Controls engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum 10 years of gas turbine combined cycle power plant O&M experience, including at least 5 years in a management position.
• At least 5 years of O&M experience at GE Vernova F-class gas turbines is mandatory.
• Prior customer interface experience and strong communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Willingness to travel as required.
