Open Rank Faculty – Dental Technology (Fall/Spring 2026‑27)

About the role

The American University of Iraq, Baghdad (AUIB) invites applications for an Open Rank Faculty position in Dental Technology for the Fall/Spring 2026‑27 academic cycle. The successful candidate will join the College of Healthcare Technologies, delivering laboratory and clinical instruction in prosthodontics and guiding students through pre‑clinical and laboratory sessions.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct laboratory and clinical teaching in prosthodontics following AUIB’s curriculum.
• Supervise hands‑on student work in wax‑up, master model preparation, metal casting, porcelain application, firing, and both conventional and digital fabrication of prosthetic restorations.
• Foster an engaging learning environment that promotes critical thinking and professional growth.
• Develop innovative teaching materials and methods in collaboration with theory faculty.
• Integrate dental technologies across the curriculum to support interdisciplinary patient‑care approaches.
• Assess student performance through examinations, grading, and constructive feedback.
• Stay current with advances in dental technology through research, continuing education, and scholarly activities.
• Participate in university service, committees, and institutional initiatives.

Required profile

• PhD or professional doctorate in dental technology or a closely related field from a reputable university.
• Post‑doctoral experience in dental technology, preferably with teaching or research background.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver high‑quality laboratory instruction and supervise student projects.

Required skills

• Prosthodontics laboratory techniques.
