Nutanix Engineer / Networking IT Support Engineer (Freelance – On-Call)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Nutanix Engineer / Networking IT Support Engineer to deliver Break & Fix support for enterprise infrastructure across Iraq. This freelance, on‑call position requires diagnosing, troubleshooting and resolving hardware, network and virtualization incidents while providing professional customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Provide onsite and remote Break & Fix support for networking and infrastructure incidents.
• Deploy, configure and manage Nutanix HCI environments (AOS, AHV, Prism).
• Perform system upgrades, patching and lifecycle management.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, virtualization and network issues.
• Resolve network connectivity problems involving TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, routing and switching.
• Implement and support backup and disaster‑recovery solutions.
• Respond to critical incidents and service requests within agreed response times.
• Collaborate with global and regional teams on infrastructure and cloud projects.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation, incident reports and service records.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in infrastructure, virtualization, networking or IT support engineering.
• Valid CCNA certification and at least 90% score on the induction assessment.
• Fluent English communication skills, both spoken and written.
• Ability to work independently in customer‑facing environments with a professional demeanor.

Required skills

• Nutanix ecosystem (AOS, AHV, Prism).
• VMware and/or Hyper‑V environments.
• Networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching.
• Backup and disaster‑recovery solutions.
• Scripting with PowerShell and/or Python.
• Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, GCP (preferred).
• Automation tools: Ansible, Terraform (preferred).
