Merchandising Specialist – Digital Product Presentation

About the role

The Merchandising Specialist will own the digital merchandising and product presentation for Baly Groceries’ mobile app. Working closely with Commercial, Marketing, Growth, Pricing and Product teams, you will ensure customers can easily discover the right products, offers and collections, driving higher conversion and a seamless shopping experience.

Key responsibilities

• Manage digital merchandising of products, categories and collections across the Baly app.
• Optimize product ranking and placement on homepages, category pages, search results and promotional sections.
• Build and maintain seasonal, promotional and thematic collections and storefronts.
• Coordinate banners, carousels, featured products, flash sales and other promotional placements.
• Ensure high‑priority, best‑selling and promotional SKUs receive appropriate visibility.
• Monitor product availability to avoid promoting out‑of‑stock items.
• Work with category teams to maintain correct category and sub‑category structures.
• Support merchandising plans for campaigns, new launches, Ramadan, seasonal events and key commercial moments.
• Analyze customer behavior and merchandising performance to improve CTR, add‑to‑cart and conversion rates.
• Conduct competitor benchmarking and identify best practices.
• Collaborate with product teams on improvements to search, navigation, filters, ranking and product discovery.

Required profile

• 2–4 years of experience in e‑commerce merchandising, category management, commercial or retail roles.
• Experience in grocery, FMCG, e‑commerce or quick‑commerce is preferred.
• Strong understanding of digital customer journeys and product discovery.
• Good analytical skills and ability to work with performance data.
• High attention to detail and strong visual/commercial judgment.
• Understanding of the Iraqi grocery and consumer market is a plus.
• Strong ownership and ability to coordinate across multiple teams.
