Mechanical Engineer / Inspector – Building Construction

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer / Inspector to join our building construction projects in Iraq. The role involves ensuring all mechanical installations meet approved drawings, specifications and international standards.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct on‑site inspections of HVAC, plumbing, drainage and fire‑fighting systems.
• Verify compliance with drawings, specifications and method statements.
• Monitor quality and safety standards throughout construction activities.
• Review mechanical shop drawings, material submittals and technical documents.
• Inspect installation of ducts, piping, equipment and fittings.
• Witness testing and commissioning of HVAC and MEP systems.
• Prepare detailed inspection reports, checklists and documentation.
• Identify non‑conformities and coordinate corrective actions with contractors and consultants.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 5–7 years of experience in building construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical inspection standards and procedures.
• Experience in QA/QC and site inspection activities.
• Familiarity with international standards such as ASHRAE, NFPA, SMACNA and BS.
