Marketing Expert – Support MSMEs in Iraq

About the role

AVSI is seeking two Marketing Experts to support an AICS‑funded project that assists start‑ups and MSMEs in Falluja, Sumel and Sinuni, Iraq. The experts will coach beneficiaries on marketing, create market‑linkage opportunities and work closely with the project team to ensure business sustainability.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical support and coaching to beneficiaries in developing marketing strategies and business plans.
• Identify and connect beneficiaries with potential buyers, distributors, investors and other market actors, maintaining a database of partners.
• Design and organise B2B/B2C matchmaking events, business fairs and pitching sessions, preparing beneficiaries for participation.
• Monitor and report on the performance of marketing activities, track linkages and follow‑up on outcomes.
• Collect field data, support assessments, trainings and other project activities as assigned by the Project Manager.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience developing marketing strategies and supporting SMEs/MSMEs.
• Minimum 2 years experience with NGOs or development projects.
• Fluent in Arabic and English; Kurdish is an asset for the Sinuni position.
• Strong analytical, coaching and reporting abilities, and willingness to work in field conditions.
