Marketing Director

About the role

Baly, Iraq's leading super‑app, is seeking a Marketing Director to shape the brand and drive customer growth across its ride‑hailing, delivery, payments and other digital services. The role will lead the entire marketing function, translating business priorities into measurable impact.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute Baly's annual marketing strategy aligned with overall business objectives.
• Translate strategy into quarterly priorities and detailed monthly plans for all ventures, services and markets.
• Own the marketing calendar covering campaigns, launches, offers, partnerships, content, CRM, in‑app communication and offline activities.
• Lead integrated campaigns from brief to execution, measurement and optimisation.
• Define campaign objectives, target audiences, key messages, channels, budgets and success metrics.
• Strengthen brand positioning, personality, messaging, visual identity and ensure culturally relevant communication in Arabic, Kurdish and English.
• Direct creative, content, media production, social media and other marketing functions.
• Oversee digital and social media strategy, paid media, audience growth and engagement.
• Collaborate with CRM and Growth teams on segmentation, retention and acquisition initiatives.
• Manage in‑app marketing placements, offline activations, events and market‑level initiatives.
• Evaluate and manage partnerships with agencies, media partners, influencers and production companies.
• Support PR, corporate communications, CSR, sponsorships, employer branding and reputation management.
• Build and lead a high‑performing multidisciplinary marketing team.

Required profile

• Strategic marketing leader with proven experience in the Iraqi market.
• Track record of managing multidisciplinary teams and delivering both brand‑building and commercial results.
• Ability to balance long‑term brand objectives with short‑term business goals.
