Information Technology Technician

About the role

EFS Facilities Services, an integrated facilities management provider, is looking for a proactive and technically skilled IT Technician to support day-to-day IT operations in the Sulaymaniyah region. The role provides first-line technical support to employees, troubleshoots laptop and connectivity issues, assists with basic IT infrastructure and security support, and keeps IT equipment and systems running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day technical support, resolving hardware, software, laptop, connectivity and other basic IT issues.
• Install, configure, maintain and troubleshoot laptops, desktops, printers, peripherals and other IT equipment.
• Assist with network connectivity, Wi-Fi, LAN and related troubleshooting.
• Set up workstations, user accounts, access permissions and password resets in line with company policy.
• Support basic IT security, escalation of security incidents, endpoint protection and system updates.
• Maintain records of IT assets, service requests, troubleshooting and maintenance history.
• Coordinate with internal IT teams, service providers and vendors, and install approved software and updates.
• Support onboarding and offboarding, including asset allocation and recovery.
• Guide employees on IT use and security, and handle support requests promptly and professionally.

Required profile

• Previous experience in an IT Technician, IT Support, Helpdesk or similar role.
• Diploma or bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field preferred.
• Strong English and Kurdish; knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
• Ability to work independently, coordinate with regional and central IT teams and escalate complex issues.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of IT infrastructure: laptops, desktops, Wi-Fi, LAN, printers and peripherals.
• Practical troubleshooting of hardware, software and connectivity issues.
• Familiarity with Windows and Microsoft Office.
• Basic understanding of IT security, user access management and endpoint protection.
• Good organisational and communication skills, able to explain technical issues to non-technical users.

Relevant IT certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+ or Microsoft certifications are an advantage. The position is based in the Sulaymaniyah region, Iraq.
