HR Specialist – Payroll & Employee Relations

About the role

The HR Specialist will support the Human Resources department in Baghdad by handling payroll, social security, Iqama processing, recruitment assistance, and employee onboarding. This role ensures compliance with Iraqi labor regulations and provides timely administrative support to both staff and management.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly payroll and related payments.
• Calculate and submit social security contributions each month.
• Renew employee Iqamas on time and coordinate with the legal team.
• Prepare documentation for visa applications, renewals, blood tests, and exit visas.
• Arrange travel logistics for expatriate staff.
• Track probation reviews, new‑joiner feedback, and performance management system updates.
• Conduct employee onboarding, providing tools and equipment.
• Draft staff contracts and other employment documents.
• Process disciplinary and grievance cases under HR Manager supervision.
• Assist with recruitment activities, including interview scheduling.
• Support staff in understanding HR policies when the HR Manager is unavailable.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of progressive HR experience.
• Strong knowledge of Iraqi Labor Law and social security regulations.
• Experience in payroll preparation and employee data management.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and confidentiality skills.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.
