Gynecologist - Preventive Screening Centre

About the role

NURA Medical Center is hiring a gynecologist for its Preventive Screening Centre in Erbil. The overall objective is to provide high-quality preventive gynecological care, including early detection screening, risk assessment and health education for women, while keeping guest information confidential and meeting professional, ethical and legal standards.

Key responsibilities

• Review colposcopy reports and images submitted by the nurse in a timely manner.
• Interpret colposcopy findings and correlate them with screening results (Pap smear, HPV testing) and the patient's clinical history.
• Provide a clinical assessment, document the review outcome and determine the management plan (follow-up, repeat screening, biopsy, treatment or referral).
• Request additional information, repeat images or repeat colposcopy when a report is incomplete, and order further investigations such as histopathology, lab tests and ultrasound when indicated.
• Communicate results and the recommended plan to the patient or through the nursing team, and refer patients with abnormal or high-grade findings promptly.
• Give feedback and clinical guidance to the colposcopy nurse on report quality and queries, and maintain accurate, confidential records of reviews and decisions.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBChB/MBBS) from a college of medicine recognized by the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
• Postgraduate specialization in Obstetrics and Gynecology: Iraqi Board, Arab Board or an equivalent recognized Master's/Fellowship (e.g. FICMS, FRCOG/MRCOG or equivalent).
• Valid registration with the Iraqi Medical Syndicate and a practice license from the Ministry of Health; certified colposcopy and cervical screening training (ASCCP/IFCPC or equivalent) preferred.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience; international travel is required.
• Kurdish and English are mandatory; Arabic is a plus.
