Geology Superintendent

About the role

The Geology Superintendent will lead geological activities for the South Basra Integrated Project, ensuring seamless execution of field development programs and supporting new well operations on a 24/7 basis.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise geological tasks related to mudlogging, LWD/MWD, wireline, coring, directional drilling and geo‑steering.
• Make critical well‑operation decisions, including Total Depth calls, data acquisition, well correlation and completion recommendations.
• Perform QC of petrophysical data, pore‑pressure detection and real‑time pressure updates.
• Coordinate Wellsite Geologists and Mudloggers to meet casing and coring objectives.
• Prepare and submit final well reports, master logs and daily comparison reports.
• Develop scopes of work for mudlogging, wireline and coring services and evaluate contractor bids.
• Control invoices for geological services by verifying tickets against contracts.
• Maintain effective communication between Exploration & Development, drilling, petroleum and reservoir engineering teams.

Required profile

• Iraqi national with at least 10 years of solid Oil & Gas experience.
• Proven ability to supervise multi‑disciplinary geological teams in a field environment.
• Strong understanding of wellsite operations, data integration and contract management.
• Demonstrated safety leadership and commitment to HSE policies.
