General Accountant – Mall Finance

About the role

The General Accountant will oversee day‑to‑day accounting operations for a busy mall environment, focusing on cash collection, tenant receivables, parking revenues, and store settlements. The role ensures accurate financial records, proper documentation, and compliance with Iraqi financial regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, record, and reconcile all cash and bank payments from tenants, parking, and commercial activities.
• Monitor and follow up on outstanding tenant dues, preparing daily cash collection reports for management.
• Manage tenant accounts, issue invoices and receipts, and coordinate collection actions with leasing and legal teams.
• Record journal entries, maintain the General Ledger, and perform monthly closing and account reconciliations.
• Prepare bank deposits, perform daily bank reconciliations, and track cash flow.
• Maintain organized financial records for internal review and external audits.
• Ensure compliance with Iraqi financial and tax regulations and implement internal control procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in malls, retail, or leasing environments.
• Strong background in cash handling, collections, and receivables management.
• Good knowledge of Iraqi financial and tax regulations.
• High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail.
• Fluent in Arabic and English with strong communication skills.

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
