Food Service Worker

About the role

The Food Service Worker supports kitchen and dining operations at a facility in Balad, Iraq. Under the supervision of the Food Service Worker Lead, you will ensure dining areas are prepared, cleaned, and stocked to meet high sanitation standards.

Key responsibilities

• Arrange counters, stands, and tables in dining and serving areas.
• Set up food containers, fill condiments, and maintain clean serving lines.
• Perform thorough cleaning of floors, equipment, walls, and light fixtures.
• Collect, wash, rinse, and sanitize dishes, pots, pans, and utensils.
• Dispose of food waste and manage garbage disposal.
• Set up, serve, break down, and replenish beverage stations, juice dispensers, and coffee machines.
• Serve main courses, speed‑line items, salads, and sandwich bar preparations during meal periods.
• Maintain organized storage of cleaning supplies and non‑food items.
• Perform any additional duties assigned by leadership.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent (copy of diploma required).
• Minimum 6 months experience in a food service environment with strong cleaning and sanitizing background.
• Valid driver’s license; ability to obtain U.S. Government Motor Vehicle Operator’s License and host‑nation license if required.
• Successful completion of medical health screening (TB test, Hepatitis A series, Typhoid) and safe food‑handling training.
• ServSafe or equivalent Food Service Certification approved under ANSI‑CFP or Tri‑Service Food Code guidelines.

Required skills
