Fire Inspector Lead

About the role

The Fire Inspector Lead reports to the Deputy Fire Chief and oversees fire prevention, inspection, and education programs at the base facility in Balad, Iraq. This senior position combines supervisory, technical, and administrative duties to ensure fire safety compliance across all installations.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct inspections of commercial, industrial and residential structures, identify hazards, and maintain detailed records.
• Investigate fire incidents, determine cause and origin, and produce comprehensive reports.
• Coordinate and supervise the Hazard Assessment Inspection Program and public fire‑prevention education.
• Review construction and modification plans, provide technical guidance to engineers, and ensure compliance with fire‑prevention criteria.
• Supervise, train and mentor a team of fire inspectors and other fire‑department personnel.

Required profile

• Minimum five years of experience as a fire inspector in emergency services.
• High School diploma or equivalent; certifications such as Fire Inspector II, Fire Instructor I, Fire Investigator preferred.
• Ability to work in extreme desert conditions with temperatures up to 130 °F.
• Leadership experience supervising diverse fire‑inspection teams.
