Finance Supervisor - Accounts Receivable

About the role

Al-Farah International, an FMCG importer and distributor of foodstuffs, grocery items and food service products established in Baghdad in 1985, is looking for an experienced Finance Supervisor. The role oversees Accounts Receivable, credit control and collections, with a focus on improving collection efficiency, managing customer credit risk, keeping accurate financial records and supporting cash flow and working capital.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise end-to-end Accounts Receivable, including billing, collections and account reconciliation
• Monitor customer credit limits, outstanding balances, payment behaviour and overdue accounts
• Develop collection strategies to reduce overdue receivables and improve Days Sales Outstanding (DSO)
• Work with the Sales team to resolve customer disputes, payment delays and account discrepancies
• Assess credit risks, analyse overdue balances and write-offs, and escalate collection issues when needed
• Prepare AR reports, dashboards and KPIs for management
• Support monthly financial closing and revenue reconciliation, and ensure timely financial reporting

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• Mandatory FMCG sector experience
• Experience in Accounts Receivable, credit control and collections
• Previous supervisory or team management experience preferred

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, account reconciliation and receivables management
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and practical experience with ERP or accounting systems
• Analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills, plus strong communication and coordination skills
