Finance Planning & Analyst – Groceries

About the role

Baly, Iraq's leading super‑app, is expanding its grocery business and seeks a Finance Planning & Analyst to partner with the Grocery team. You will drive budgeting, forecasting, P&L analysis and financial modelling to support strategic decisions and growth initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the Grocery P&L, tracking revenue, gross margin, operating costs and profitability.
• Support annual budgeting and forecasting cycles for the grocery segment.
• Produce regular actual‑vs‑budget/forecast analyses, highlighting key variances and performance drivers.
• Build and update financial models for store expansion, dark‑store economics, and investment decisions.
• Analyse unit economics such as revenue per order, labor, fulfillment and occupancy costs.
• Develop business cases for new dark stores, city launches, distribution centre investments and other strategic projects.
• Collaborate with the Director of Groceries and Finance to deliver actionable insights.
• Evaluate the financial impact of pricing, promotions, supplier funding and marketing campaigns.
• Work with Supply Chain and Operations on inventory, waste, shrinkage and productivity analysis.
• Prepare dashboards, management reports and scenario analyses for senior leadership.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in FP&A, commercial finance or financial analysis.
• Strong understanding of P&L, budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling and management reporting.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
