Executive Pastry Chef – Hotel in Baghdad

About the role

We are looking for an exceptional Executive Pastry Chef to lead the pastry operations of our hotel in Baghdad. In this visionary role you will create innovative pastry concepts, oversee multiple dining outlets and ensure every guest experience reflects our commitment to quality, creativity and hospitality.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute seasonal, visually compelling pastry menus for restaurants, lounges, in‑room dining, banquets and special events.
• Introduce new techniques and presentation styles that elevate guest expectations.
• Oversee day‑to‑day pastry kitchen operations, ensuring efficiency, consistency and premium quality.
• Maintain full compliance with HACCP protocols and local food‑safety regulations.
• Optimize production processes to minimise waste while preserving product excellence.
• Recruit, mentor and develop a high‑performing pastry team, fostering a collaborative culture.
• Conduct regular training sessions on technical skills, service orientation and professional development.
• Manage department budgets, control food and labour costs, and oversee sourcing, purchasing and inventory management.
• Collaborate with the Executive Chef and Finance team on forecasting, reporting and financial planning.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an Executive or Head Pastry Chef in a hotel or upscale hospitality setting.
• Strong leadership and team‑building abilities.
• Deep knowledge of pastry techniques, menu development and local culinary traditions.
• Commitment to the highest standards of hygiene, safety and quality.
