English Teacher - SABIS Curriculum

About the role

Meltho International School in Erbil, part of the SABIS educational network, is looking for an English teacher. The teacher implements the SABIS curriculum and teaching methods to help students reach their full potential. The school is listed under the Teaching & Academics department.

Key responsibilities

• Teach classes using the provided lesson plans (and develop them where needed from the pacing charts) so that the SABIS point system can be used in the classroom.
• Mark exams for the taught subject according to the schedule and materials provided by the department.
• Implement the SABIS Point System to create a conducive learning environment.
• Proctor exams and manage a proper test environment.
• Support low-performing students through guidance and motivation.
• Help prepare students for external exams by reviewing previous exams according to the revision schedule.
• Aid with duties such as testing students, substituting for absent teachers, organizing students for lunch and buses, and other administrative tasks assigned by school management.
• Take part in activity plans for events such as art, open houses and physical education, working with the Student Life Coordinator.
• Attend training sessions when requested by school management and carry out other tasks delegated by management.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.
• English proficiency.
• At least 1 year of teaching experience.
• Professional behaviour and ethical conduct.
• Excellent communication skills.
