Data & Analytics Officer

About the role

The Data & Analytics Officer supports the Protection department of the International Committee of the Red Cross by ensuring high‑quality data management and providing analytical outputs that inform programme planning, monitoring and reporting. The role focuses on maintaining data integrity, improving data entry practices and automating routine quality controls.

Key responsibilities

• Apply organisational guidance, workflows and data‑entry procedures to guarantee data integrity and compliance with protection‑specific requirements.
• Collect, enter and store protection‑related data in line with data‑protection and security policies.
• Maintain up‑to‑date data‑management documentation and align it with established procedures.
• Conduct regular data‑quality checks, including cleaning, translating, and correcting inaccuracies, inconsistencies or missing information.
• Assist in developing, maintaining and applying data‑quality monitoring tools such as dashboards, reports, views and trackers, and contribute to their automation.
• Monitor data quality trends, identify recurring errors or gaps and support the creation of corrective monitoring tools and reports.
• Cross‑check incoming information, verify accuracy and follow up on incomplete or incorrect documents.
• Prepare raw data for entry and liaise with colleagues to clarify data issues.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of data‑management processes, data‑protection and security standards.
• Experience conducting data‑quality assessments and implementing improvement measures.
• Ability to document procedures and produce clear data‑quality monitoring outputs.
• Excellent attention to detail and capacity to work collaboratively with protection teams.
