About the role
IREX is seeking an experienced professional to serve as Country Representative for its Iraq portfolio, providing strategic leadership across programs and office operations.
Key responsibilities
- Provide strategic direction for IREX programs, staff and office operations in Iraq.
- Ensure compliance with IREX policies, donor requirements and Iraqi laws.
- Oversee program quality, workplans, budgets, reports and deliverables.
- Represent IREX with government entities, donors, partners and other stakeholders.
- Guide and mentor program, finance and operations staff.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree highly preferred.
- At least 12 years of progressively responsible experience in international development or donor‑funded programming.
- Substantial leadership experience managing complex programs, budgets and teams.
- Fluency in English required; Arabic proficiency strongly preferred.
Required skills
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
