Country Representative

About the role

IREX is seeking an experienced professional to serve as Country Representative for its Iraq portfolio, providing strategic leadership across programs and office operations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction for IREX programs, staff and office operations in Iraq.
• Ensure compliance with IREX policies, donor requirements and Iraqi laws.
• Oversee program quality, workplans, budgets, reports and deliverables.
• Represent IREX with government entities, donors, partners and other stakeholders.
• Guide and mentor program, finance and operations staff.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree highly preferred.
• At least 12 years of progressively responsible experience in international development or donor‑funded programming.
• Substantial leadership experience managing complex programs, budgets and teams.
• Fluency in English required; Arabic proficiency strongly preferred.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
