Control Room Supervisor

About the role

The Control Room Supervisor will lead real‑time operations of the Central Processing Facility (CPF) in Basra, Iraq. Reporting to the CPF Superintendent, you will maintain plant stability, ensure safe production, and act as the primary decision‑maker during normal and abnormal conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor plant performance via the Distributed Control System (DCS) and maintain full situational awareness of all process units.
• Interpret trends, alarms, and process conditions to anticipate and mitigate operational issues.
• Make timely operational decisions to balance safety, equipment protection, environmental compliance, and production continuity.
• Oversee CPF start‑up, shutdown, and transition procedures in line with approved operating instructions.
• Lead troubleshooting of process upsets and coordinate resolutions with field operators and supervisors.
• Initiate Emergency Shutdown (ESD) when required and act as the central focal point during plant emergencies.
• Coordinate activities between the control room, field operators, FSF operations, and maintenance teams, especially during Permit to Work (PTW) activities.
• Manage alarm systems and ensure compliance with process safety standards.

Required profile

• Iraqi national with at least 10 years of solid experience in oil & gas control‑room operations.
• Proven ability to operate and supervise a CPF or similar processing facility.
• Strong decision‑making skills under pressure and excellent coordination capabilities.
• Experience with start‑up, shutdown, and emergency response procedures.

Required skills

• Proficient operation of DCS platforms.
• Process control and monitoring of pressure, temperature, flow, and level parameters.
• Alarm management and emergency shutdown (ESD) execution.
• Permit to Work (PTW) coordination.
• Process troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis.
