Control Room Operator – Solar Plant Monitoring

About the role

Wood is seeking a Control Room Operator to join its Singapore Business Unit and support real‑time monitoring of a solar plant located in Basra, Iraq. The role is full‑time, onsite and includes occasional travel to field sites.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor solar plant performance in real time using SCADA and inverter smart IV‑curve monitoring systems.
• Respond to system alarms, warnings and faults, identifying trends or anomalies.
• Diagnose issues remotely and coordinate escalation to field teams when required.
• Log incidents and maintenance activities, and prepare daily, weekly and monthly performance reports.
• Ensure plant operation complies with Grid Operator regulations.
• Recommend operational improvements and predictive‑maintenance actions.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Control Room Operator, preferably in solar or renewable‑energy environments.
• Ability to work onsite in Basra with a willingness to travel as needed.

Required skills

• SCADA system operation.
