Contracts and Procurement Manager

About the role

KBR is seeking an experienced Contracts and Procurement Manager to join its IFMS project team in Basra, Iraq. The role involves overseeing both contracting and procurement functions, ensuring compliance, risk mitigation, and alignment with project objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Protect the contractor and KBR from contractual risk by promoting best‑practice contracting methodologies.
• Lead the contracting function through the Senior Contracts Manager and the procurement function through the Procurement Manager.
• Authorize procedures, monitor work progress, and address site‑specific issues, claims, variations, and audit findings.
• Maintain the contractual and procurement aspects of the agreement, including audit readiness.
• Serve as the primary interface with KBR’s Contract & Procurement leads and report monthly on progress and risk areas.
• Review and issue Requests for Quotation, support vendor negotiations, evaluate commercial bids, and approve purchase orders.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience in contracts and procurement within large‑scale engineering or infrastructure projects.
• Demonstrated commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage cross‑functional teams.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities, especially in audit and claim management.
