Construction Manager - Oil & Gas Projects

About the role

NOVARGI INDUSTRIES, a provider of process and thermal equipment for the oil, gas, petrochemical, energy and industrial markets, is looking for an experienced Construction Manager to lead all construction aspects of a project in Iraq. The role suits someone with solid experience in Oil & Gas infrastructure projects who can coordinate multidisciplinary teams in a challenging, multicultural environment. The location is Buzurgan and Halfaya.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate all on-site construction activities so that projects are delivered on time, within budget and to quality standards.
• Implement and enforce Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) policies, and ensure compliance with local and international regulations.
• Develop detailed construction schedules and manage quality audits and inspections.
• Lead, motivate and manage engineering teams, supervisors and site staff, and liaise with engineering, operations and supplier teams.
• Manage stakeholder communication with authorities, contractors, suppliers and clients.
• Allocate materials and personnel efficiently and manage procurement for timely availability.
• Prepare regular reports on progress, KPIs, costs and resource use, and keep senior management in Dubai informed.
• Identify risks, develop mitigation strategies and propose corrective actions.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering or a related field; postgraduate study in Project Management is valued.
• At least 10 years of experience in Oil & Gas construction projects, preferably international; Middle East experience is a plus.
• Strong project and construction management background, with expertise in budgeting, planning, project control, quality, contract management and HSE compliance.
• Fluent English (written and spoken); Arabic is an asset.

Required skills

• Familiarity with MS Project, Primavera or similar tools.
• Knowledge of international standards and safety requirements.
