Arabic Iraqi/Kurdish Linguist (CAT II)

About the role

Valiant Integrated Services is seeking an experienced Arabic Iraqi/Kurdish Linguist (CAT II) to provide high‑quality translation, transcription, and interpretation services in support of U.S. operations. The role involves working in austere environments and delivering culturally accurate language support.

Key responsibilities

• Perform accurate consecutive translation, transcription, and interpretation of Arabic Iraqi and Kurdish into English.
• Translate colloquial, slang, and technical expressions between English, Arabic Iraqi, and Kurdish.
• Travel and operate in austere field locations as required.
• Provide cultural and ethnic context for statements, conversations, and documents.
• Scan, research, and analyze foreign‑language documents.
• Complete other related language tasks as assigned.

Required profile

• Native‑level proficiency in Arabic Iraqi, Kurdish, and English (ILR Level 3/3 preferred).
• Extensive cultural knowledge of the region with prior field experience.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain or maintain a Secret security clearance.
• Medical fitness for deployment, including hearing, vision, and physical requirements.
• Ability to work under stress, meet tight deadlines, and lift up to 50 lb.
