Accounting Manager - Hospitality & Services

About the role

A Senior Accounting Manager is sought to lead finance and accounting for hospitality and service operations in Baghdad. The role covers hotels, restaurants, facilities, events and other service environments, supporting reliable reporting, disciplined controls and commercially focused decisions. The successful candidate is hands-on, service-minded and comfortable working with operational leaders in a fast-moving, customer-focused business.

Key responsibilities

• Lead month-end and year-end close, reconciliations, reporting and variance analysis
• Oversee revenue, cash, point-of-sale settlements, receivables, payables, payroll interfaces and general ledger activity
• Monitor daily sales, occupancy or service KPIs, margins, labor cost, purchasing and inventory controls
• Prepare budgets, forecasts, cash-flow plans and management dashboards
• Strengthen approval processes, segregation of duties, cash handling and audit readiness
• Partner with operations, procurement and commercial teams to improve profitability and service performance
• Coach accounting staff and promote accurate, timely and ethical financial practices

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field; professional certification is an advantage
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ years in a supervisory or managerial role
• Experience in hospitality, hotels, restaurants, facilities management, retail, professional services or another multi-site service business
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, revenue recognition, cash controls, budgeting and management reporting; Iraqi tax and statutory experience preferred
• Professional fluency in English; Arabic required or strongly preferred
• Willingness to work on site in Baghdad
