Accountant

About the role

A leading company in the water purification and bottling industry is looking for a detail-oriented and responsible Accountant to join its finance team. The role covers recording daily financial transactions, preparing journal entries, bank reconciliations, employee advances and cash receipts and payments, with an emphasis on accurate records and compliance with company procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Record and maintain daily journal entries and financial transactions, and prepare and review them for accuracy
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
• Manage employee advances, including issuing, recording and settling them
• Receive, disburse and manage cash, and prepare cash receipts and payment vouchers with supporting documents
• Monitor cash balances and follow up on outstanding payments, advances and settlements
• Maintain accounting records, organize financial documents and prepare periodic financial reports to assist with month-end closing
• Coordinate with other departments and ensure compliance with accounting procedures and internal controls

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• At least 2 years of relevant accounting experience
• Practical experience with daily journal entries, bank reconciliations, employee advances and cash receipts/payments
• Good understanding of basic accounting principles and financial procedures
• Attention to detail, good organization, communication and problem-solving skills, and ability to keep financial information confidential
