Wastewater Treatment Plant Supervisor

About the role

The Wastewater Treatment Plant Supervisor will oversee safe, efficient operation and maintenance of wastewater and potable water treatment systems at an Amentum site in Iraq supporting the U.S. Department of State. Reporting to the Chief Engineer or Utilities Manager, the supervisor ensures 24/7 reliability of all water treatment assets.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a safe workplace and enforce all Environmental Health & Safety and Quality Assurance requirements.
• Assign daily work and supervise Water Treatment Technicians on waste and potable water processes.
• Oversee preventive maintenance, condition monitoring, repair, installation, and modernization of wastewater treatment plants (250,000+ gallons) and water treatment plants with RO and ultra‑filtration units (1,000,000+ gallons).
• Manage wells, underground storage tanks, domestic pumps, valves, cold‑water distribution, exterior clean‑outs, and holding tanks.
• Ensure wastewater and potable water testing meets SOW, SOP, EPA, and DOS Drinking Water Safety Program standards.
• Guarantee continuous operation (24X7X365) with N+1 redundancy and coordinate any planned outages with the Contracting Officer’s Representative.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising water treatment operations in a high‑security environment.
• Strong knowledge of EPA regulations, DOS Drinking Water Safety Program, and water laboratory standards.
• Ability to work under pressure and maintain equipment reliability around the clock.
