Teller (Cash Operations)

About the role

Bank of Baghdad is hiring a full-time Teller for its Branch Network team in Baghdad, reporting to the Teller Supervisor. The Teller executes daily cash transactions accurately and efficiently, including deposits, withdrawals, transfers and cheque processing, while following the Bank's policies, operational procedures, internal controls, AML and KYC requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Receive customers and process cash deposits and withdrawals accurately and efficiently.
• Execute internal and external transfers within approved procedures and authorization limits.
• Handle cheques, including cashing, deposits and verification of authenticity.
• Receive and deliver cash within approved limits, perform daily cash reconciliation and keep the cash drawer secure and never leave it unattended.
• Provide prompt, professional customer service and respond to customer inquiries about cash transactions.
• Verify customer identities and the completeness of required documents, and comply with AML and KYC requirements; report suspicious transactions to the Teller Supervisor or compliance personnel.
• Record all transactions accurately in the Bank's approved banking systems and handle damaged or counterfeit banknotes according to Bank policy.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics or a related field.
• 1-3 years of professional experience in cash handling or banking operations.
• High level of integrity, honesty and professionalism.

Required skills

• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• High accuracy with cash and numerical calculations; basic knowledge of accounting principles.
• Ability to work under pressure and strong attention to detail.
• Good knowledge of banking systems and transaction processing procedures, and of operational controls and cash handling procedures.
