Process Engineer – Industrial Process Design & Optimization

About the role

KBR is seeking a Process Engineer to join its Sustainable Technology Solutions team. The role focuses on designing, operating, and improving industrial processes to boost efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance sustainability across the asset life‑cycle.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, configure and optimise industrial processes from concept through start‑up and certification.
• Assess processes, collect measurements and interpret data to drive performance improvements.
• Design, test, and upgrade systems and processes, and perform process simulations.
• Create best‑practice routines, innovative solutions and detailed process documentation.
• Manage cost and schedule constraints while providing technical assurance to unit operations.
• Participate in Management of Change (MOC) activities and maintain monitoring tools such as spreadsheets and PI Process Book.
• Support special projects, senior engineers and technical specialist teams.
• Facilitate HAZOP studies, conduct root‑cause analysis and apply structured problem‑solving techniques.
• Ensure compliance with engineering regulations, Shell standards and operating‑integrity requirements.

Required profile

• BSc degree in Chemical or Petrochemical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of proven experience in Process Engineering.
• Experience with process simulations and process‑engineering software packages.
• Knowledge of process‑related standards and experience in upstream, downstream, or gas‑plant environments, or with major engineering‑construction contractors.
