Field Operator – Commissioning/Startup/Operation

About the role

KBR is seeking a Field Operator to join its Sustainable Technology Solutions team in Basra, Iraq. The role focuses on commissioning, startup, and ongoing operation of process and utility systems, ensuring safe and efficient plant performance on a 28/28 rotation schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Perform leak testing of process and utility systems.
• Conduct loop and C&E checks during commissioning.
• Execute startup and shutdown procedures, including valve lining and isolation according to the startup/shutdown list.
• Patrol and monitor rotating and static equipment for abnormalities.
• Maintain field log sheets, daily and monthly reports, and LOTO documentation.
• Communicate continuously with the DCS Operator throughout the shift.
• Handle manpower coordination, field housekeeping, and PTW administration.
• Support other disciplines with isolation/de‑isolation activities and ensure all safety precautions are in place.
• Respond to emergencies and perform any additional duties directed by the supervisor.

Required profile

• Experience in field operations, commissioning, or startup of industrial plants.
• Strong awareness of safety procedures, LOTO and PTW processes.
• Ability to work on a 28/28 rotation schedule and operate in a field environment.
• Good communication skills for coordination with control room operators and multidisciplinary teams.
