Director, People & Culture

About the role

Rixos Baghdad is looking for a seasoned Director, People & Culture to steer the hotel’s human resources strategy. Reporting to senior leadership, you will shape a supportive, inclusive environment that aligns with the brand’s luxury standards and business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute People & Culture strategies that drive engagement, talent development and organizational success.
• Oversee talent acquisition, recruitment and onboarding to attract and retain top talent.
• Act as trusted advisor on employee relations, resolving conflicts and fostering a positive workplace.
• Lead learning and development initiatives, succession planning and leadership growth programs.
• Manage performance appraisal processes, goal setting and feedback mechanisms.
• Design and maintain competitive compensation and benefits programs, ensuring fairness and market alignment.
• Ensure compliance with Iraqi labor laws, company policies and best practices.
• Oversee HRIS data integrity, generate metrics and provide regular reports to executive leadership.
• Champion diversity, equity, inclusion and employee wellness initiatives.
• Collaborate with health and safety teams to maintain safe working conditions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field; Master’s preferred.
• Proven experience in senior HR leadership within hospitality or similar high‑service environments.
• Strong knowledge of Iraqi labor legislation and HR best practices.
• Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders and drive cultural change.
